Airless paint sprayers are small mechanical equipment used for mixing, pumping, and spraying high-quality paints and coatings. They are a popular spraying device in the current painting industry, not only because of their high work efficiency, but also because the surface finish after spraying is more consistent than manual brushing. Therefore, airless paint sprayers are essential spraying equipment for both professional and DIY painting projects.
To extend the service life of the airless paint sprayer, we need to clean it after each use. The specific cleaning methods are as follows:
.The airless paint sprayer is always under high pressure during use. To prevent serious injuries caused by pressurized liquids (such as spraying on the skin, fluid splashing, and moving parts), we need to relieve the pressure before cleaning.
.Remove the tip guard and spray tip.
.Take the piston pump out of the paint and place it in the rinse liquid, using water for water-based paints and mineral spirits for oil-based paints.
.Turn on the motor switch or start the engine, activate the generator, and open the hydraulic pump valve to rotate the paint valve to the spraying position.
.Lean the spray gun against the paint container, release the trigger lock, and turn the pressure control knob to increase the pressure until the pump starts running. Squeeze the spray gun trigger until the rinse liquid flows out.
.Move the spray gun towards the waste liquid container, hold the gun against the container, and squeeze the trigger to thoroughly flush the system. Release the trigger and lock the trigger safety.
.Continue squeezing the spray gun trigger while turning the packing nut downward. Then release the trigger and let the rinse liquid circulate until the fluid flowing out of the return hose becomes clear.
.Lift the piston pump above the rinse liquid level and run the sprayer for 15-30 seconds to expel the fluid. Close the hydraulic pump valve, turn off the engine or motor, and unplug the power.
.Lock the trigger safety. If there are any filters on the spray gun and sprayer, remove, clean, and reinstall them.
.Loosen and remove the inlet filter. Clean the filter, and replace it if necessary.
.If water rinsing was used, rinse again with solvent oil or mineral spirits to leave a protective coating and prevent freezing or corrosion.
.Wipe the sprayer, hose, and spray gun with a cloth soaked in water or mineral spirits.
